You can even fine-tune the priority of notifications from any app to have them show on top of other apps’ notifications in the action center. You can also disable only the notification banners but retain the app’s ability to show notification in the action center. As you can see from the last screenshot above, you can disable the notification of an app entirely to not receive any notification from this app in the future.
There is a lot more you can do apart from just turning off the notification sound in the notification settings. That particular app should now show notification banners quietly without any alert sound. In the next window, toggle off the option that reads Play a sound when a notification arrives.Scroll down to the list of apps and find the app that you want its notifications sound to be turned off.
From the left pane, click on Notifications & actions. Click on Settings (the gear icon on the left). MechVibes appears to work best of the lot. We did try a few other apps but they seem to struggle with responsiveness i.e., you may have pressed several keys before a keypress is actually registered and a sound for it is played. If you’re up to it, you can probably write an AutoHotKey script to do the job too but it will be quite a tedious task given you’ll have to specify each key within the script. Make sure the option to give audio feedback for a keypress is enabled. Select the Keyboard tab under Interaction and turn on Filter Keys. To enable Filter keys, open the Settings app and go to Ease of Access. This setting, when enabled, will play a sound when you tap special keys on your keyboard e.g. Windows has an Ease of Access setting called Filter Keys. It’s not the same as the small tapping sounds you get on a smartphone but as far as the desktop is concerned, it fits the bill. The sound is meant to mimic the sound you’d hear if you were using a mechanical keyboard. Leave the app running and each time you press a key, you will hear a sound. You can change the volume of the key sounds and that’s all you can do. The app only has one sound that you can use so there’s nothing to customize there.
